DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace is a third-person on-rails shooter based on the 2022 movie of the same name. The game is aimed towards toddlers/preschoolers. Players play as super-dogs Krypto and Ace to uncover Lex Luthor’s plot to pet-nap Metropolis’ strays.

Project Brief

Create a third-person on-rails shooter as a tie-in game to be released beside the movie of the same name. The game is aimed at kids so implement a simple straightforward control scheme, with exciting and fun power ups that keep the game interesting.

Process description

The levels in the game are all hand crafted to provide the player with interesting scenarios to look at during game play. The level started with grey boxing which after play testing and further refinements were turned into final game ready levels.

This step included adding of various navigation obstacles(as much as the medium permits) with exciting and engaging enemy placements for the players to shoot down.

Lots of inspiration was drawn from the on rails shooters of the olden era such as Panzer Dragoon and Star Fox.
